Drop In Centre
“EMBRACING GLAMOUR AND HEALTH” for Hard to reach populations
This is a Drop In Centre (DIC) established by UGEM to serve hard to reach populations including Key populations, Performing Artists, Adolescent Girls and young women. The DIC’s major focus is on drug use and mental health, HIV/AIDs, TB, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Gender Based Violence prevention, impact mitigation and linkages among the target populations. The DIC provides a safe space to its target population in a private and exclusive environment.

Scaling up of comprehensive TB reduction and control interventions among high-risk populations in Wakiso district.
The Defeat TB project was implemented in Wakiso District with support of University Research Co. (URC)/ USAID for a period of 12 Months with a goal of contributing to the reduction of new TB infections and control its effects by the end of July 2019 among high-risk populations including prisoners, slum dwellers, factory workers, PLHIV and contacts of confirmed and infectious TB patients using local structures.
